What You Will Learn:
This presentation will address the concept of IPM, and include examples of different control tactics, such as conservational and augmentative biological control using drones. Other control tactics will be discussed, using several pests as case studies. Information on remote pest monitoring, mating disruption and chemical control will be also presented.
More About the Presenter (s):
Alejandro Del-Pozo is an applied insect ecologist at Virginia Tech. He is located at the Hampton Roads Research Station in Virginia Beach. Alejandro is also an extension specialist, serving the ornamental and turfgrass industries. Alejandro’s research focused on providing applied and science-based solutions to implement an IPM program. Alejandro holds a master in Entomology from Washington State University and a PhD in Entomology from North Carolina State University.
