This talk will cover essential production concepts and disease management in the state of Georgia. Esta Charla va a cubrir concepts de production de viveros ornamentales asi como manejo de plagas y enfermendades en Georgia.

More About the Presenter (s):

Rolando Orellana works as the Urban Water/Irrigation Coordinator for the University of Georgia Center for Urban Agriculture at the Griffin campus. He holds a degree in Ag Engineering from National Agriculture School in Honduras.

Dr. Laura Ney is the Clarke County ANR County Extension Agent. After completing her bachelor’s in Horticulture, from UGA, with certificates in organic and international agriculture, Laura worked as an educator and farm manager at UGA's Costa Rica campus. She returned to Athens, where she earned her PhD, and began focusing on soil health and free-living nematode communities. In her current role, Laura focuses on green industry education, sustainable management, and local food systems.

Sergio Sosa is the ANR Extension Agent at UGA Clayton County Cooperative Extension. Sergio earned his BSc in Ornamental Horticulture from Louisiana State University. He also holds an MSc in Horticulture from Louisiana State University, and an MSc in Plant Biology from Rutgers University. Along with being bilingual and serving as a translator in many green industry settings, Sergio has a rich depth of experience in Agricultural Research, Golf Turf and Landscape Maintenance, and Management.
